The Fiery Heart Cover Reveal

Fiery Heart Cover

Even though the Indigo Spell has only just come out, the lucky people over at Bookish had the honour of revealing the intriguing new cover for The Fiery Heart.

According to Richelle, The Fiery Heart comes out on November 19th THIS YEAR in English speaking countries, and it’s even hotter than The Indigo Spell.

Penguin Teen Australia have posted a rather interesting blog featuring expert analysis on the new cover. There’s speculation about why we can’t see the lily, why Sydney is finally facing Adrian, and several other keen observations. Go and read it people, seriously!

The Bookish have included a short spoiler-free blurb with their cover reveal, but we have the full blurb from Amazon below for those who’ve already read The Indigo Spell.

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn’t over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there’s still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure—and re-education—looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this thrilling fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Adrian Inspiration

Indigo Spell Cover

MTV’s Hollywood Crush have a long history of admiration for the Vampire Academy books, and they’ve posted an intriguing guest post from Richelle about where she found her inspiration for some of Adrian’s actions and choices. I won’t post any spoilers here, but I will say it has something to do with Louisa May Alcott… yeah, the same LMA who wrote Little Women and Eight Cousins.

Wait… maybe that was a spoiler.

Go and read it now!

Richelle Talks To EW

Entertainment Weekly have posted a fabulous interview with Richelle about the Bloodlines series, the VA movie, and her new adult series. We found the part about Adrian’s role in Fiery Heart to be particularly interesting. It’s a great read, so check it out.

I think readers are going to love the way the romance jumps off the charts in these next couple of books. It’s a series that people can’t take anything for granted on. We’ll have these wonderfully romantic, heated moments, and then the next devastation. It takes such a harsh turn. I don’t ever want a book to be one-dimensional. I think people are also going to be pleased near the end. We’re going to see a lot of familiar faces from the first series having a slightly larger role. They’re still side characters, but thus far, they’ve mostly had cameos. They’ll become a little more integral to the plot.

Zoey Deutch Round-Up – 15/02/13

With the release of Beautiful Creatures, Zoey Deutch is certainly popping up around cyberspace a lot.

I think being able to really fall in love with someone is the craziest thing that could ever happen. You know, allowing yourself to really go there and really feel those things is extremely scary. It’s extremely painful, sometimes, and you expose yourself in such a way. I think just falling in love alone and giving someone else a chance to fall in love with you and jump into your life is crazy enough. Along with all the beautiful things that come with it in a relationship, I think just falling in love in general is just crazy.

  • And last up is a short snippet of Zoey talking about her stint on the television series Switched as Birth and her mom. Thanks to HitFix.

Carol Handley Interviews Richelle Mead

Carol Handley, of Warm 106.9, was lucky enough to sit down with Richelle Mead for a pretty awesome interview. They begin by talking about living in the north-west, and how the climate feeds creative endeavours, before diving into the good stuff.

The main topic of discussion is The Indigo Spell, and the Bloodlines series as a whole. Richelle compares Rose and Sydney, and they discuss magic in the Alchemist order, Sydrian, and the role Marcus Finch will play in the story. Richelle goes into detail about the love triangle she was tempted to include, and why she chose to go in another direction.

The conversation veers toward the craft of writing at times. Richelle touches on the difference between plotting, planning where a story is going to go, and pantsing, going with the flow, when drafting a book. There is also an interesting part about writing places an author has never visited, like Richelle and Palm Springs, and how to take characters out of their comfort zones.

They mention spin-offs, and the potential for another story set in the Vampire Academy world, as well as the movie. Most of the film information is close to the end, though, and can be found in more detail in the previous post about Richelle’s blog.

To watch the entire 30 minute video, head to 106.9′s website now. Thanks for a brilliant interview, Carol.

Vampire Academy:Blood Sisters – Richelle’s Update

Today Richelle took to her blog to clear up some of the confusion regarding the recent movie news. She speaks about the new title addition, the writer (Daniel Waters), the director (Mark Waters), and the casting of Rose, Lissa and Dimka.

Zoey is a young actress people are already raving about. Mark Waters told me when she walks into a room, people feel her energy, and she was one of the few actresses who worked out for the role before auditioning. She’s training even more now and has all the books so that she can really get into Rose’s head.

We’re so excited for this movie. It’s great that they’re interested in details as small as the size of Rose’s nazar, and the fact they’re looking into the future is promising too!
